Faith Ward, a 22-year-old dancer from Perth, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a spot on the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad. She expressed her excitement and gratitude after making the prestigious team, which is renowned globally thanks to the Netflix series America’s Sweethearts, showcasing its intense audition and training process.

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, and raised in Western Australia, Faith is the first New Zealander and only the third Australian to make the NFL team’s cheerleading roster. She competed against thousands of cheerleaders for one of just six rookie spots on the 36-member squad for this NFL season. The selection process is highly competitive and demanding, involving veterans fighting to keep their positions against fresh talent.

Faith described the audition journey as “cutthroat and brutal,” emphasizing how tough the process was. Despite this, she praised the team’s director Kelli Finglass and choreographer Judy Trammell, noting they have “warm hearts” and genuinely want to see the best potential in each dancer.

Reflecting on the industry’s challenges, she said, “It’s a hard industry to make it in and everyone wants to do it, so you’ve just got to push through.” Her achievement marks a significant step in her dance career and highlights her perseverance amid intense competition.
