In a strong demonstration against the recent attack and vandalism at the Bangladeshi Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India, students from Dhaka University organized a protest march on Monday night, December 2nd. The event began around 9:15 PM at the base of the Raju Sculpture, where students gathered before marching through the campus.

Students from various dormitories joined the protest, which culminated in a rally back at the Raju Sculpture. During the gathering, participants chanted slogans such as “No to Subjugation, Yes to Freedom,” “Negotiation or Struggle, Struggle,” “Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka,” “Stop Indian Aggression, People Unite,” “Why the Attack on the High Commission? Delhi, You Must Answer,” and “No to Collaboration, Yes to the Streets.”

At the rally, students expressed their views, stating, “India is our neighboring country. We aim to maintain diplomatic relations and good neighborly ties. However, we cannot accept a feudal relationship with them. India must apologize for the attack on the Bangladeshi High Commission located within its territory.”

They further asserted, “We are sending a message to India—there is no longer a government of the Awami League in this country. They should not attempt to exert dominance as they did in the past. We warn Delhi that as long as there is a drop of blood in our veins, we will not accept Indian hegemony. Just as Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee, we will resist Indian aggression.”

Prominent content creator Kafi, who participated in the protest, remarked, “We achieved a new Bangladesh through a popular uprising. Many still suffer, some lie in graves, yet their tears are not shed for them but for Hasina’s power. We will not allow them to taste power again. Our relationship with Delhi will be one of mutual respect.”

Through this protest, the students have clearly articulated their stance on Bangladesh’s sovereignty and independence.
