Kangana Ranaut has confirmed that her film Emergency has been postponed. Initially set for release on Friday, September 6, the movie has yet to receive certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

On Friday, Kangana announced via her X (formerly Twitter) account that a new release date for her directorial debut will be announced soon.

“With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial Emergency has been postponed. We are still waiting for the certification from the censor board. A new release date will be announced soon. Thanks for your understanding and patience,” she wrote.

The postponement follows a recent Bombay High Court decision not to intervene in the matter. This came after the Madhya Pradesh High Court directed the CBFC to consider objections raised against the film before granting certification. The CBFC has been instructed to resolve these objections and finalize the certification by September 18.

Earlier, Kangana had expressed frustration over the delay, indicating her readiness to fight for the film’s release. “It’s getting too late. I hope the film comes out on time. Otherwise, I am determined to fight for it. I am prepared to go to court to protect my film and my rights as an individual. You can’t change history and intimidate us with threats,” she said.
