SUST Alumni in New York Inaugurates new committee

The Sastian Night and the inauguration of the new committee were held under the initiative of Sastian Association of USA Inc., an organization of former students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology living in the United States. Last February 18 (Sunday) evening, the alumni of the university organized this colorful event.

The debut ceremony will be held from 6 pm to midnight at the Agra Palace in Queens, New York. Hundreds of former students and their family members from New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Michigan and other states of the United States participated in this meeting for the first time on the ground of the United States under the banner of ‘Sustian Night and Inauguration Ceremony’. Also alumni from Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Canada participated in the event. The entire program became lively with the conversation of classmates, senior-junior and guests, along with reminiscences of different times of the campus. Queen’s Agra Palace turns into a piece of Sast.

Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate General of New York was present as the chief guest of the event. Nazmul Huda, Executive Officer of NYPD 104 Preciscont (Police Office) Captain AKM Shafiul Alam Prince was present as a special guest and Salekur Rahman Chowdhury, former Controller of Examinations of the University, former Dean of Physical Sciences of the University and former Divisional Officer of the Department of Physical Sciences were present as honored guest teachers. Chief Professor Dr. Habibul Ahsan.
