The highly anticipated psychological thriller Cape Fear has officially set its premiere date, with the star‑studded miniseries arriving on June 4, 2026. Backed by powerhouse talents Amy Adams and Javier Bardem, and guided by the creative influence of Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, the project is already shaping up to be one of the most talked‑about releases of the year.
Developed by Nick Antosca, the series reimagines John D. MacDonald’s novel The Executioners, previously adapted into iconic films in 1962 and 1991. This new version dives deeper into the psychological terror at the heart of the story, following a seemingly ordinary family whose world is shattered when a violent criminal recently released from prison and burning with vengeance sets his sights on them.
At the centre of the narrative is a married couple who run a successful law firm. Years earlier, they helped put the dangerous offender behind bars. Now free, he begins a chilling campaign of intimidation and revenge, dragging the couple into a harrowing struggle for survival. The series explores the emotional breakdown of the family as fear, guilt and obsession take hold, blurring the line between justice and retribution.
With its blend of domestic tension, psychological dread and moral complexity, Cape Fear promises a gripping, character‑driven thriller that examines trauma, obsession and the fragile boundaries between the legal and the unlawful.
