Pop star Guy Sebastian and his former manager Titus Day have finally closed the chapter on a bitter, nearly decade‑long legal dispute and Day has publicly apologised for failing to pass on money owed to the singer during their years working together.
In a statement released after the confidential settlement, Day acknowledged that during his 11-and-a-half years managing Sebastian, he “made a number of regrettable decisions which have had painful consequences.” He admitted he had become “a poor steward of Guy’s income,” including funds his company continued to receive even after Sebastian ended their professional relationship in 2017.
Last year, a jury acquitted Day of four charges, but was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining counts leaving the long‑running dispute unresolved until this week’s settlement.
Day’s legal battle is not entirely over. His separate case against TAFE NSW remains ongoing in the NSW Supreme Court.
The settlement marks a significant turning point in one of Australia’s most high‑profile entertainment industry disputes, bringing long‑awaited closure for both men after years of courtroom drama, public scrutiny and fractured trust.
