AA Ngurah Adi Ardhana, a former Balinese Member of Parliament, has expressed support for the government’s recent decision to tighten oversight on tourism-related developments.

Speaking to media, Ardhana praised the governor of Bali’s decisiveness in tackling issues such as permit abuse, land grabbing, and investment propriety. “I express my appreciation for the governor of Bali’s decisiveness in addressing potential violations of permit abuse, land grabbing, and investment propriety,” he said.

Ardhana, who had previously criticized unchecked development during his tenure, argued that similar measures should be applied across the island to restore Balinese tourism to its original, sustainable essence, while still encouraging responsible investment and growth in the sector.
