Three Charged After Alleged Armed Robbery Spree and Police Pursuit Across Brisbane

Three people have been charged following a series of alleged armed robberies and a dramatic police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle across multiple suburbs in Brisbane.

Police were first called to a home in Kuraby in Brisbane’s south at about 3:15pm on Friday after reports that a man and a woman allegedly threatened a female resident with a knife before attempting to steal a vehicle.

Investigators allege the same offenders were also involved in an attempted armed robbery earlier in the day in Sunnybank Hills.

Police claim the suspects fled in a black Haval H6 that had allegedly been stolen from a car wash in Goodna on Wednesday.

The vehicle was later spotted in Waterford at about 5:00pm, prompting a major police response. A police helicopter tracked the vehicle as it allegedly travelled dangerously through several Brisbane suburbs, including Forest Lake, Sumner Park, Corinda, and Indooroopilly.

Police footage reportedly showed the vehicle cutting through a service station and narrowly missing a cyclist during the pursuit.

Officers deployed a tyre deflation device in Milton at approximately 6:13pm, bringing the pursuit closer to an end. The vehicle eventually stopped on Gailey Road in St Lucia about seven minutes later.

Two women and one man were taken into custody at the scene.

A 26-year-old woman from Morningside and a 22-year-old woman from Kingston have been charged with multiple offences, including armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 24-year-old man from Forest Lake has been charged with 12 offences in connection with the incident.

All three were scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the affected areas to come forward as investigations continue.

The incident caused concern across several Brisbane suburbs and highlights the dangers posed by reckless driving during alleged criminal activity in urban areas.
