JoJo Siwa Reveals Eye Infection and Concussion After Golf Cart Fall: “I’m a Mess, But I’ll Be Okay”

JoJo Siwa has opened up about a frightening health scare, telling fans she is recovering from both a gnarly eye infection and a concussion after a violent fall from a golf cart.

The 23‑year‑old singer and reality star appeared on Instagram wearing a black eye patch as she detailed the ordeal, admitting the past few days had been “rough.” Sharing clips of her swollen, infected eye, she told followers, “Things aren’t going too well… hopefully it’s on the mend in the next few days.” She added with a shake of her head, “On top of this, I also have a concussion. I’m a mess.”

Siwa explained that the concussion happened on May 25, when the wheel of her golf cart locked and spun out of control, throwing her off with such force that she landed on her neck before hitting her head. The eye infection appeared a couple of days later.

“They think it’s completely unrelated, but it’s a gnarly eye infection,” she said after visiting three different doctors. Despite the scare, she reassured fans: “I’m gonna be fine. It’s just going to take a while… as unlucky as I am that it happened, I am very, very lucky with how I came out of it.”

In her caption, Siwa added that the eye patch made concussion recovery more difficult, so she now wears it only when she needs a complete break from light.

Amid the chaos of medical appointments and bed rest, Siwa still found a moment to celebrate love marking one year with her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, in a heartfelt post shared on May 27, 2026.
