Prince Harry has reportedly earned a new nickname among frustrated palace insiders “Hijack Harry” amid fresh claims that he and Meghan Markle strategically time their public appearances and announcements to overshadow major royal engagements.
The latest flashpoint came when the Sussexes released previously unseen wedding‑anniversary photographs while King Charles and Queen Camilla were undertaking a high‑profile three‑day visit to Northern Ireland. According to royal sources, the timing reignited long‑standing irritation within palace circles, where some aides believe the couple operate what they call a “hijacking diary” designed to compete with official royal events.
One insider told RadarOnline.com that staff have begun referring to the Duke of Sussex as “Hijack Harry” because “every major royal event is suddenly accompanied by a Sussex announcement, photograph release or intervention that is seen as a pathetic attempt to shift the spotlight back onto them.”
Another palace source said the pattern has become impossible to ignore. “People working around King Charles feel it has become predictable and increasingly deliberate. Every time Charles or William tries to focus attention on public duties, something emerges from California that drags headlines back toward Harry and Meghan.”
A separate royal aide echoed the frustration, saying the repeated clashes in timing have created “enormous irritation” behind the scenes.
The controversy adds yet another layer to the already strained relationship between the Sussexes and the royal household a rift that shows little sign of easing as both sides continue to navigate competing public narratives.
