A major fire at a tyre business in Logan, south of Brisbane, has left a building damaged and several cars destroyed, with one person taken to hospital with burns.
Emergency services were called to the Queens Road, Kingston premises shortly after 1pm following reports of a fast‑spreading blaze. Police initially declared an exclusion zone under the Public Safety Preservation Act, covering parts of Queens Road, Meakin Road, Allan Street, Plain Street and Scrubby Creek. The declaration has since been lifted.
The Queensland Fire Department deployed more than a dozen units, including specialist crews. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze by 2:30pm, though pockets of fire were still being extinguished later in the afternoon.
Authorities confirmed that one person suffered burns to the leg and hand and was transported to hospital. Multiple vehicles at the site were destroyed, and the building sustained significant damage.
Investigators are yet to determine what sparked the fire.
