Newly released dashcam footage has shed light on Britney Spears’ March 4 DUI arrest in Ventura, capturing the pop star’s tense interaction with police moments before she was handcuffed and taken into custody.
The video reportedly obtained by TMZ shows officers pulling Spears over after she was allegedly seen swerving between lanes. According to the police report, officers said they detected the “distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage” and claimed Spears admitted to having one mimosa earlier in the day.
At one point, Spears allegedly told officers, “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I’m an angel.” Police also said she described herself as a “zero” on the sobriety scale and disclosed that she had taken Adderall, Prozac and Lamictal that same day.
The footage shows officers placing handcuffs on Spears and escorting her to a patrol vehicle. However, police records later confirmed that she blew below the legal limit on two breathalyser tests conducted at the station.
Earlier this month, Spears reportedly reached a plea deal with prosecutors, reducing the DUI charge to a lesser “wet reckless” offence a common downgrade in cases involving low blood‑alcohol readings.
