Hasib delivered a sharp warning during a media briefing, arguing that approving the nominations of dual citizens and loan defaulters violates the Representation of the People Order and undermines the spirit of the July uprising. He said allowing such candidates into parliament would pave the way for deeper corruption and more loan defaults, ultimately harming ordinary citizens.
He questioned the integrity of the Election Commission, saying that if laws apply differently to ordinary people and political candidates, it dishonors the sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs. He also voiced doubts about the commission’s neutrality.
Hasib criticised senior bureaucrats, accusing them of shifting political loyalties. He said the administration once leaned toward the Awami League, but after Tarique Rahman’s return, many bureaucrats now appear aligned with the BNP. He argued that these officials have not undergone necessary reforms and insisted the interim government must take responsibility.
He added that his organisation is compiling a list of bureaucrats allegedly involved in enforced disappearances, killings, genocide and vote rigging over the past fifteen years.
