The Election Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner A M N Nasir Uddin, met with the chiefs of the army, navy and air force on Sunday to review the overall security situation ahead of the national parliamentary election and the upcoming referendum. The meeting took place at the Election Commission headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.
According to officials, the discussion began at noon in the conference room of the EC Secretariat. The talks focused on election security, coordination among forces and preparations at the field level.
Another meeting with law enforcement agencies is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., to be chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner. Election commissioners, senior military leaders and top police officials are expected to attend.
