Bangladesh Election Commission Begins Dialogue with Poll Experts

The Election Commission (EC) launched a fresh round of election dialogues on Tuesday morning at its headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka, engaging with poll experts as part of its ongoing consultations ahead of the national election.

A total of nine former EC officials and one election analyst joined the session. Participants included Mohammad Zakaria, Muniya Khan, Khandaker Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Nuruzzaman Talukder, Mihir Sarwar Morshed, Shah Alam, Mir Mohammad Shahjahan, Mejbah Uddin Ahmed, Shahed Un Nabi Chowdhury, and Mahfuza Akter.

In the afternoon, the EC was scheduled to hold discussions with around 40 women’s rights activists and women leaders, continuing its outreach to diverse stakeholders.

The dialogue series began on 28 September, just before the Durga Puja holidays. The second phase resumed on Monday with a session involving senior journalists.
