The Bangladesh government has approved the recruitment of 4,000 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) to strengthen the capacity of the police force ahead of the upcoming national election.
The Ministry of Finance recently issued a letter, signed by Kazi Lutful Hassan, Deputy Secretary of the Cost Management Unit, endorsing the home ministry’s proposal for the large-scale recruitment.
According to official sources, half of the new ASIs 2,000 positions will be filled through direct recruitment, while the remaining 2,000 will be promoted internally from the rank of constables.
The home ministry has already begun preparations to launch the recruitment process, officials confirmed.
