Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly accused Qatar of spearheading a coordinated campaign to isolate Israel on the global stage. In an exclusive interview with The Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu claimed that Qatar is using its diplomatic clout and media influence to rally Arab nations and international organizations against Israel.
The accusation comes amid a series of diplomatic setbacks for Israel, including stalled normalization talks with Saudi Arabia and renewed criticism over its handling of Gaza. Netanyahu pointed to Qatar’s support for Hamas and its funding of Al Jazeera as evidence of its “hostile posture.”
Qatar has not issued an official response, but regional analysts say the remarks could further inflame tensions in an already volatile Middle East. “This is a calculated escalation,” said Dr. Lina Khatib, a Middle East policy expert. “Netanyahu is trying to shift blame for Israel’s isolation away from its own policies.”
