Tait withdraws his candidacy for Tigers’ bowling coach

Former Australian pacer Shaun Tait has withdrawn his name from the interested coaches’ list of becoming the new pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Tuesday.

“Shaun Tait was on the list. But he had a contract with Windies Cricket and because of that, he withdrew his name. His interview didn’t take place,” Naimur Rahman Durjoy, member of BCB’s special coach recruitment committee, told reporters in Mirpur.

Meanwhile, Naimur added that they had contact with Ross Taylor but the former New Zealand cricketer has some time limitations to work with them.

The BCB started taking interviews with the interested candidates on Tuesday and on the opening day, they took interviews for batting coach and pace bowling coach positions.
