Yemen is prepared to take a strong stand against Israeli aggression in Gaza. In a statement issued on Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, warned that if Israel does not cease its massacres, destruction, and blockade in Gaza, Yemen will launch a fourth phase of naval resistance. The threat also includes intensified military strikes.
According to reports from Al-Masirah television, Yemen’s forces criticized the ongoing aerial bombings of Gaza, the blockade on food and medicine access, and the silence of Arab countries, accusing Israel of provoking the situation. Yemen described its resistance as a moral and humanitarian duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.
Brigadier General Saree issued a stark warning, saying, “Any ships from any country or company docking at Israel’s seaports will now be targeted by Yemeni missiles and drones. Regardless of ownership, these ships will be considered legitimate targets.”
He also issued a cautionary message to global shipping companies, warning them to stop cooperation with Israeli ports. Failure to do so could result in their vessels becoming targets of attack.
Saree made it clear that if Israel does not immediately end its blockade and brutal assault on Gaza, Yemen’s military and naval resistance will continue. “We stand on a moral and humanitarian position against the oppression of Palestinians,” he stated.
Analysts warn that this fourth phase of naval resistance could significantly disrupt shipping and international trade. Should the measures be implemented, large-scale disruptions in maritime traffic are expected.
