The main reason, he says, is the lack of research-friendly and creativity-supportive environments.
He emphasizes that nearly 60% of Bangladesh’s population is youth. Engaging this large young demographic in innovative activities can accelerate the country’s progress significantly.

Founded on May 25, 2001, in Toronto, Canada, by Marci Segal, the day was established to promote awareness about the importance of creativity and innovation. Segal, who studied creativity at the International Center for Creativity in 1977, played a key role in advocating for this observance.
On April 27, 2017, the United Nations officially designated April 21 as World Creativity and Innovation Day. The decision was influenced by the recognition that creativity and innovation are vital to human development across all sectors.
