Women’s Premier League 2025 to Begin January 9

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kick off on January 9, 2026.

The league stage will feature 20 matches, with a total of 22 matches to be played in the tournament. The Eliminator is scheduled for February 3, followed by the Final on February 5.

This year’s competition will see 277 players, including 194 Indian cricketers, taking part. However, no Bangladeshi players were picked in the auction despite entries from Rabeya Khan, Marufa Akter, and Sworna Akter.

The WPL continues to grow as a major platform for women’s cricket, showcasing both domestic and international talent.
