Woman found dead in Sydney

A man has been accused of homicide after the body of a lady was viewed as in Sydney’s inward west.

Catiuscia Machado was discovered in a bathtub at a Chiswick unit on Saturday just before 10pm, following reports of a domestic incident.

The Brazilian teacher, believed to be in her forties, was known to the accused and her family has been notified of her death.

Officers arrested 40-year-old Diogo De Oliveira at the Bechcert Road property.

He was charged with murder (DV) and his matter was mentioned before Burwood Local Court on Monday.

Mr De Oliveira did not apply for bail and the case will return to the same court on January 24.

A strike force has been set up to investigate the incident, and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine Ms Machado’s cause of death.

A strike force has been set up to research the occurrence, and a posthumous will be led to decide Ms Machado’s reason for death.
