Woman Fakes Bomb Threat to Stop Son’s Overseas Flight Over Affair

In a shocking revelation, authorities disclosed that a woman orchestrated a false bomb threat to prevent her son from flying abroad with his extramarital partner.

According to AKM Shahidur Rahman, Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the threatening call was received on Friday, July 11, warning of a bomb on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 373, which was about to depart from Dhaka to Kathmandu. The scare prompted panic, leading officials to suspend the flight, evacuate all passengers, and conduct an emergency search.

After a two-and-a-half-hour operation, the bomb disposal team confirmed there was no explosive device onboard.

Initial investigations revealed that the passenger was traveling with his extramarital partner a fact known to both his wife and mother. In a desperate attempt to stop the affair, his mother allegedly made the fake bomb threat to the air traffic control.

“This call was made solely to prevent the son from continuing his extramarital relationship,” the RAB chief stated.

Three individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the hoax. Once security clearance was obtained, the Boeing 737-800 resumed its journey and departed for Kathmandu later that evening.

Authorities condemned the misuse of emergency systems and are continuing their probe. Legal action is expected against those responsible for the false alarm, which disrupted airport operations and caused significant distress to passengers.
