Bangladesh marked Victory Day on Tuesday, December 16, with thousands of people flocking to the National Memorial from early morning to honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.

Visitors included political leaders, freedom fighters, their families, students, and members of various organizations. Carrying flowers, banners, and festoons, they laid wreaths at the memorial, turning the site into a grand assembly of national gratitude and remembrance.

Later in the day, the chief adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, attended the official Victory Day program at the National Parade Ground. He was welcomed by Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk-i-Azam upon arrival at 11:26 a.m.

To make the celebration more majestic, the armed forces, with support from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, organized a spectacular fly-past, parachute jumps, and aerobatic displays. A combined military band performance added to the grandeur, captivating the audience.
