The UN World Tourism Organization forecast today that global tourist arrivals will rebound to 95% of pre-pandemic levels by December 2025. Europe and Asia-Pacific lead the recovery, driven by city-break weekends and eco-tourism packages.
UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili urged destinations to priorities sustainability: “As we welcome visitors back, we must protect local communities and natural resources.” The report highlights micro-season travel and off-peak promotions as key growth strategies.
Airlines and hotels are already expanding capacity, with data showing July passenger volumes up 6.3% year-on-year.
