Ukraine Criticizes Lack of Global Response After Deadly Kyiv Attack

1 min read

Ukraine on Tuesday condemned what it described as the insufficient international reaction to Russia’s deadly strikes on its territory, following an attack on Kyiv that killed at least 14 people.

Ukrainian presidential adviser Andriy Yermak, in a social media post, accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians. “This is how Russia fights… it kills civilians in ordinary homes,” he said. “This is how autocracies fight… A nuclear power can simply kill civilians in homes, refuse to cease fire, and not receive the necessary reaction from the civilized world. Why? And how many more of our people and children must die?”

The attack on Kyiv, one of the largest on the Ukrainian capital in over three years of war, resulted in at least 14 fatalities and dozens of injuries. According to Interior Minister Igor Klymenko, around 27 locations in Kyiv were struck, including residential buildings, schools, and critical infrastructure.

Despite international efforts led by the United States to broker a ceasefire, Moscow continues its attacks on Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had hoped to speak with U.S. President Donald Trump at the G7 summit in Canada, but the U.S. leader cut short his visit as Israel intensified its strikes against Iran.
