The United Arab Emirates has announced sweeping changes to its visa system, introducing new categories and revising conditions for existing permits. The reforms, unveiled by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), aim to attract skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors from around the world, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, technology, tourism, and entertainment.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICP, said the new rules were designed after assessing both local and international developments. He emphasized that the changes will make it easier to live, work, and do business in the UAE, while also strengthening the country’s position on the global stage.
New Visa Categories
- Artificial Intelligence Specialist Visa
- Entertainment Visa
- Event Visa
- Cruise Ship Crew Visa
- Business Establishment Visa
- Freight Truck Driver Visa
- Relative and Friend Visa
- Residence Visa for Foreign Widows and Divorced Women
Applicants must demonstrate financial solvency and secure suitable accommodation. Authorities may extend the visas if valid reasons are provided.
