Filmmaker Tyler Perry is facing a new sexual assault lawsuit, the second in recent months accusing him of using his influence in Hollywood to make unwanted sexual advances.
Actor Mario Rodriguez, who appeared in the film Boo! A Madea Halloween, filed the suit on Thursday in California. He alleges that Perry subjected him to repeated unwanted advances over several years, including incidents of sexual battery and assault at Perry’s home in Los Angeles. Rodriguez is seeking at least 7 million dollars in damages.
The lawsuit also names Lionsgate, the distributor of the 2016 film, accusing the studio of ignoring Perry’s alleged misconduct. Lionsgate has not yet responded to requests for comment.
