A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man believed to be her partner in South Australia’s mid-north. Emergency services were called to a home on Dorothy Street in Port Pirie South around 2:15pm on Friday, where a 52-year-old man was found unconscious. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested a 42-year-old woman at the property and charged her with murder. Investigators believe the pair lived together and were in a domestic relationship.
Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch and forensic officers are examining the scene as part of an ongoing investigation. The woman is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
In a separate incident, a 47-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was allegedly stabbed in Port Augusta on Saturday.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on Higginson Street around 3:30pm. A 33-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Adelaide in critical condition.
