US President Donald Trump says the most intense phase of joint US and Israeli military operations against Iran is “yet to come,” as the conflict continues to escalate across the Middle East and global markets react with alarm. Fuel prices have already begun to surge, and Iran has struck energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar in retaliation.
Speaking at the White House for the first time since the coordinated assault began, Trump said the US was conducting “large‑scale combat operations” inside Iran, accusing Tehran of ignoring repeated warnings and refusing to abandon its nuclear ambitions. He described the campaign as ongoing and far from reaching its peak.
Information from inside Iran has become increasingly difficult to verify due to a nationwide internet blackout imposed by authorities. Human rights monitors say the scale of casualties is rising sharply. Arina Moradi of the Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights reported that around 1,500 people have been killed, including 200 civilians, though the blackout has made confirmation extremely challenging.
She said Kurdish regions were facing some of the heaviest bombardments. “Today we have seen an increased number of attacks on Kurdish towns and cities, especially in Sanandaj,” she said. “Dozens of people died in these attacks. With the internet shut down, it is very difficult to verify the exact number of casualties.”
As the conflict widens and civilian suffering intensifies, global concern is mounting over how far the confrontation may spread and how long the military campaign will continue.
