Trailblazing Women in Business: Indian Delegation Heads to UAE for AI & Innovation Exchange

2 min read

Next week, 35 women entrepreneurs from the Indian Women Network (IWN) of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will embark on a pioneering trip to Dubai, UAE, to delve into artificial intelligence (AI) governance in education and advancements in medical innovation.

This landmark visit marks IWN’s first international venture since its 2013 inception, during which it rapidly grew to establish chapters across nearly two dozen Indian states. As one of India’s largest professional networks for women, IWN aims to bolster female leadership and career growth within India’s industries.

Dubai was selected as the destination for its progressive achievements in AI, medical research, and women’s empowerment, as well as for its exemplary governance in these sectors. During their two-day journey, the Indian delegation will engage in panel discussions and networking opportunities, connecting with UAE-based industry experts and innovators to foster a robust exchange of ideas. The visit aligns closely with the strengthening of India-UAE economic ties, underscored by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2022. Both nations have ambitions to elevate their trade values to unprecedented levels by 2030, with non-petroleum trade expected to exceed $100 billion.

Megha Chopra, co-chair of IWN’s New Delhi chapter and executive director at RateGain Travel Technologies, expressed that the trip is not just an educational retreat but a crucial step toward enhancing bilateral economic relations through women-led ventures. By engaging with Dubai’s industry leaders, Indian entrepreneurs gain insights into innovations that could inspire growth and lead to potential partnerships and investments upon their return to India.

Beyond exploring AI and medical advances, the delegation embodies IWN’s mission to showcase the potential of women in driving economic and collaborative growth between India and the UAE. This cross-border initiative represents a major stride in strengthening the role of women entrepreneurs in global economic partnerships, setting a precedent for future collaborations across regions.
