A devastating plane crash near Moscow has left seven people dead, including the pilot and all passengers on board. On Tuesday, a Russian military cargo aircraft went down in the Ivanovo region during a test flight.
The Defense Ministry confirmed that the aircraft was an AN-22 series military transport plane, typically used for carrying cargo. Officials stated that the plane had experienced engine problems and was undergoing a test flight after repairs when the accident occurred.
Shortly after takeoff from a military airfield, the aircraft crashed into an uninhabited area of Ivanovo, about 200 kilometers from the capital. Authorities emphasized that because the crash site was remote, there were no casualties outside the aircraft.
A special investigation committee has already been formed to determine the exact cause of the crash. The committee has begun its work, focusing on uncovering the technical reasons behind the tragedy.
