A suburban street in Sydney’s western suburbs has been the scene of heartbreak after a four-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services received reports of the incident around 12:05 p.m. on Glossop Street in North St Marys. Upon arrival, officers from the Nepean police area command found the toddler had been hit by a Ford sedan.
Despite receiving immediate treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics, the young boy tragically succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.
The male driver of the vehicle was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing following the incident.
A crime scene has been established as police initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
