A tragic workplace incident at a home construction site in Inglewood has resulted in the death of one man and serious injuries to another. Emergency services were called to the scene on Sexton Road around 1:15 PM on Thursday, following reports of the accident.

Upon arrival, first responders confirmed the death of a 69-year-old man. A report will be prepared for the coroner to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man sustained significant injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Sources indicate that both men were crushed by a brick wall several meters high, leading to the catastrophic injuries. The scene was heavily secured by police, with at least a dozen officers present, as they cordoned off the area and began to piece together the events that led to the incident.

Emotional scenes unfolded outside the home, where friends and family members embraced one another upon learning of the tragedy. Firefighters were also on-site to assist in the response.

Sexton Road has been closed at its intersections with India Road and Walter Road West as authorities conduct their investigation. WorkSafe has been notified and is currently looking into the incident, alongside representatives from the construction union, CFMEU, who are also present at the worksite.
