Tragic Discovery: Suspected Human Remains Found Near Sydney Home

2 min read

Three individuals have been arrested following the alarming discovery of suspected human remains near a residence in Glenorie, on the outskirts of Sydney’s north-west. The grim find occurred just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday during a police investigation into a missing person.

The missing man, 39, had been reported absent by his family the previous evening. Their information led police to the rural property on Gleness Place. Detective Superintendent Naomi Moore revealed that during a search of the area, officers uncovered what they believe, with a “level of confidence,” to be a body approximately 200 meters from the house.

Due to items obscuring the remains, authorities were unable to confirm their identity at the time, but it is thought that the man may have been missing for several days.

Two men, aged 24 and 34, along with a 35-year-old woman, have been taken into custody in connection with the case, which is being treated as “suspicious.” Detective Superintendent Moore noted that the suspects are believed to have ties to the missing person, which could assist in the ongoing investigation.

As of now, no charges have been filed, with authorities stating it is “too early to suggest that.”

Forensic teams are en route to the scene, which has been divided into two investigation sites: the residence of the arrested individuals and the location where the remains were found.

Brett Middleton, a local resident who has lived in the area for four years, described the community as “super quiet” and “safe,” where neighbors typically keep to themselves. He expressed shock at the incident, emphasizing the importance of considering the family of the missing man.

“It’s a bit of a shock; you don’t expect it in your own area,” he stated. “You always want to wish and hope that whoever it was was not met with horrible situations.”

Locals have received notices encouraging them to contact police with any information that could aid in the investigation.
