A tragic incident on the Hume Highway at the Victoria-New South Wales border has resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man, who was reportedly struck by two vehicles early Sunday morning. Emergency services responded to calls just before 5 a.m. in North Albury, where they found the man lying on the roadway.
Upon arrival, police confirmed that the man had been hit by two cars and, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the drivers involved—a 53-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman—were not disclosed; both were taken to the hospital for mandatory testing following the incident.
In the aftermath, a section of the Hume Highway was closed for several hours to allow for an investigation, but it has since been reopened. Authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner. The community mourns this tragic loss as investigations continue.
