Russel Ahmed (35), a notorious extortionist and criminal from Karwan Bazar, has been arrested by the Tejgaon police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He was apprehended early Friday in front of Star Kabab Restaurant.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division stated that Russel Ahmed had been conducting extortion and various criminal activities in the Tejgaon area and its surroundings for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Tejgaon police arrested him today.
Russel faces four cases under extortion and explosives acts at Tejgaon police station. Legal proceedings are underway against him.
