Three 150s Lift New Zealand in Bulawayo

1 min read

New Zealand posted a record-breaking innings in Bulawayo after Zimbabwe were bowled out for 125 in the first innings. Three New Zealand batsmen crossed the 150 mark in the same innings, a rare feat in Test history.

New Zealand ended the day at 601 for 3, extending the lead to 476 as the first innings built a dominant cushion.

Openers Devon Conway and Will Young put on 162 for the opening wicket. A 73 run stand followed for the second wicket, and a 110 run stand for the third. By the close, Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra were not out and had pushed the team’s progress to a stand of 256.

It is the first time this year that three batsmen have reached 150 in a single innings, and only the second time in Test history that a team has had three players reach that mark in one innings.
