Third Person Charged in Sunshine Coast Man’s Murder Case

Police have formally charged a third individual in connection with the murder of Zdravko Bilic, a Sunshine Coast man who was found dead in his front yard last week.

Bilic, 57, was allegedly killed during an apparent break-in last Sunday night. His body was discovered outside his Warana residence the following day, bearing two stab wounds to his stomach.

An 18-year-old woman from Bethania, located south of Brisbane, was charged with murder on Tuesday. In addition to the homicide, she faces multiple charges including unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, entering a dwelling with intent by break, entering a dwelling and committing a crime, attempting to enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, and attempting to enter a dwelling and commit the offence.

She is scheduled to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

This development follows the arrest of two teenage boys aged 15 and 17, who were charged with Bilic’s murder last Thursday. Their cases were mentioned in the Maroochydore Children’s Court last week, where they were remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Chris Toohey stated that police allege the murder occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, during an altercation following an alleged break-in.

Bilic’s wife, Gry Tomte, a skincare business founder, was interstate at the time. His body was discovered after she asked a neighbour to check on him because she had not heard from him on Monday.

Bilic was remembered as a “gentle person” with a “beautiful energy” and was heavily involved in the local community. In a social media statement last week, Ms. Tomte expressed her grief, saying, “There is no way I can capture the immense grief I feel over losing the most beautiful man. My world for 28 years.”
