A teenage boy has tragically died following a vehicle rollover in the Northern Territory. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday when the boy, driving alone in a Toyota Prado, lost control on Girraween Rd in Herbert, a suburb on the outskirts of Darwin.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries. Northern Territory Police have launched an investigation into the crash, establishing a crime scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Girraween Rd was temporarily closed overnight as investigators worked, but it has since been reopened to traffic. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance, requesting anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., particularly along Hutchinson Rd and Girraween Rd, to come forward.
