Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has firmly denied rumors linking her to a cryptocurrency fraud case, labeling them as “fake, misleading, and false.” In a recent statement, she called on the media to stop circulating such reports and confirmed that her team is investigating the situation to take appropriate action.
Reports had emerged suggesting that Tamannaah was involved in a ₹24 million cryptocurrency fraud case in Puducherry. Addressing these claims, she stated, “It has come to my attention that rumors are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumors. In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action.”
On Friday, it was reported that both Tamannaah and fellow actress Kajal Aggarwal might be questioned by Puducherry Police regarding the fraud case. A complaint had been filed by local resident Ashokan, who alleged that a Coimbatore-based company defrauded him and ten others of ₹24 million after persuading them to invest in a cryptocurrency scheme.
According to the complainant, he attended the company’s launch event in 2022, where Tamannaah was present, as well as a subsequent event in Mahabaleshwar attended by Kajal. The police have sought clarification from the actresses, although no official statement has been issued by the authorities.
Reports indicate that investors at the launch event received lavish gifts, including cars valued between ₹1 million and ₹10 million, raising suspicions about the scheme’s legitimacy and prompting questions regarding the company’s authenticity.
On the professional front, Tamannaah was last seen in the Netflix film “Sikandar Ka Mukaddar,” where she starred alongside Avinash Tiwary and Jimmy Sheirgill. She is set to feature next in the horror thriller “Odela 2,” portraying the role of a sadhvi.
