Sydney once again hosted one of the world’s most dazzling New Year’s Eve celebrations, as the city erupted in colour, music, and fireworks the moment the clock struck midnight.
At 7 p.m. Bangladesh time midnight in Sydney residents poured into the streets to welcome the new year with joy and excitement.
The heart of the festivities centred around the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, where vibrant performances, live music, and a breathtaking fireworks display lit up the night sky. For a full 30 minutes, the Harbour Bridge became the backdrop for a stunning show of multicoloured fireworks and water effects. Designs resembling butterflies, octopuses, and flowers illuminated the sky, drawing cheers from the crowd.
The countdown began 10 seconds before midnight, and at 12:01 a.m. local time, the main fireworks display commenced. People gathered across the city along roads, riverbanks, parks, and rooftops to enjoy the 360‑degree spectacle.
Shortly after midnight, fireworks worth nearly $3 million were launched from the rooftops of 22 skyscrapers, turning the entire city into a festival of lights. The panoramic display captivated spectators from every corner of Sydney.
Sydney’s New Year’s Eve celebration is renowned worldwide, and this year’s event once again lived up to its reputation.
