Sydney Migration Agent Faces Dilemma Amid Iran-Israel Conflict

1 min read

A migration agent from Sydney was visiting his family in the capital before escalating tensions between Iran and Israel erupted. Now, he and his loved ones back home are anxiously awaiting news of his safety.

He is scheduled to fly out of the country on July 4 but feels conflicted about leaving early amid the chaos. The recent Iran-Israel conflict intensified last Friday after Israel launched dozens of air strikes against Iranian targets. The conflict coincided with a report from the United Nations watchdog revealing that Iran has failed to meet its nuclear obligations for the first time in nearly two decades.

Since the outbreak of hostilities, both Iran and Israel have exchanged fire, with explosions reported in Tel Aviv and Tehran. Israel’s military campaign has targeted several nuclear and military sites, resulting in the deaths of top generals and nuclear scientists.

A human rights group based in Washington estimates that at least 639 people have been killed in Iran, including 263 civilians, with over 1,300 wounded. However, Tehran has not been providing regular updates on the death toll, leaving many uncertain about the full extent of the casualties.
