A briefing at a camp in Gazipur’s Porabari on Saturday morning revealed that an arrestee known as Swadhin has admitted involvement in the killing of a journalist. The arrest followed analysis of information technology data and CCTV footage that helped investigators reconstruct the sequence of events.
According to the initial account, the killing occurred during a duty shift after a quarrel between a woman and a man named Badsha. Badsha slapped the woman, and Swadhin along with other suspects attacked with sharp weapons. As the journalist recorded the incident on video, the attackers hacked him with a machete before fleeing.
Security officials confirmed these details, and the case is being handled under court oversight.
