Spanish football is in mourning after the tragic death of 19‑year‑old goalkeeper Raúl Ramírez Osorio, who collapsed during a fifth‑division match on Saturday, September 27.

Ramírez, who played for CD Colindres, suffered a severe head injury in a clash against Revilla. According to Spanish media, he went into cardiac arrest multiple times and was later declared brain dead. Despite being rushed to hospital in Santander, doctors were unable to save him.

On Monday, September 29, the Cantabrian Football Federation (RFCF) officially confirmed his death, extending condolences to his family, friends, and club. The federation declared three days of mourning and announced that a minute’s silence will be observed before all matches next week in his memory.

The young goalkeeper’s passing has sparked tributes across Spanish football, with clubs and fans alike expressing grief at the loss of a promising career cut tragically short.
