Simone Ashley Joins ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Cast

Simone Ashley, best known for her role in ‘Bridgerton,’ has been cast in the upcoming sequel to the beloved film ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ according to Deadline. The British actress will appear alongside the original stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Kenneth Branagh has also signed on to star in the film.

The new movie is a follow-up to the 2006 hit, which centered on a young woman navigating her demanding job under a tough fashion editor. In the sequel, Meryl Streep’s iconic character, Miranda Priestly, faces the decline of print media, while Emily Blunt’s Emily Charlton has risen to become a powerful fashion executive. The story will explore their rivalry as they compete for advertising business. Kenneth Branagh is set to play Miranda’s husband.

Ashley gained widespread recognition playing Kate Sharma in ‘Bridgerton’ and has appeared in Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ as well as the series ‘Sex Education.’

The original ‘Devil Wears Prada’ was a massive success, earning over $326 million globally and garnering two Oscar nominations, including one for Streep as Best Actress.

The cast of the sequel also features Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux, Conrad Ricamora, Helen J Shen, Caleb Hearon, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman.

David Frankel, who directed the first film, is returning to helm the sequel, with screenplay writer Aline Brosh McKenna also back on board. Filming is already underway.

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.
