Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has bought three nomination forms of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League to contest in the upcoming national polls, scheduled to be held on January 7.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has bought three nomination forms from the ruling Bangladesh Awami League to contest in the upcoming national polls, scheduled to be held on January 7.

According to sources, a representative of the all-rounder bought the nomination forms for Magura-1, 2, and Dhaka-10 constituencies from the party office on Saturday.

Earlier on the day, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the sale of party nomination forms for the 12th parliamentary elections.

Following the inauguration at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka, Awami League advisory council member Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed collected the nomination form on her behalf for the Gopalganj-3 constituency.

A total of 1064 forms – 1050 offline and 14 online – worth Tk5.32 crore were sold on the opening day of nomination selling.
