Kalgoorlie Police have expressed grave concerns for Dean Barry Edwards, an Esperance man who has been missing for over seven weeks. Mr Edwards was last seen on May 16 at a service station in Norseman, approximately 634 kilometers east of Perth, where he was purchasing food and fuel.

The 59-year-old from Castletown, a suburb of Esperance, is believed to have left the area heading north. His disappearance was reported by his brother on June 30, who raised concerns for his welfare.

On the same day, authorities found Mr Edwards’ abandoned white Isuzu D-MAX utility in dense scrubland along the unsealed Banker-Mount Day Road, situated between Norseman and Hyden.

Goldfields-Esperance Police Inspector Mick Kelly said search efforts have been extensive, including a 500-meter radius around the location of the vehicle.

“We’ve deployed officers from Norseman, Eucla, and Kambalda, and we’ve also used drone technology in our search,” Inspector Kelly said, emphasizing the ongoing and thorough investigation into Mr Edwards’ whereabouts.
