Sabrina Carpenter Embraces Aging, Says Exes Are Flattered by Her Songs

Sabrina Carpenter has revealed she isn’t concerned about her appearance changing with age, choosing instead to focus on how she feels about herself. The 26-year-old singer explained that beauty, for her, is defined by personal confidence rather than outside opinions. “It’s usually pretty insufferable men that think I’m hideous, but when I think about beauty, it’s been about when I myself feel beautiful. It has nothing to do with other people,” she said.

Carpenter credited her mother whom she described as a “natural beauty” for encouraging her to embrace the natural process of aging. “I haven’t really grappled with what’s going to happen as I get older, but my mom’s always been a natural beauty and always really encouraged me to just let it happen. She’s like, ‘Let the world weather you.’ The world is definitely weathering me right now,” she reflected.

On her personal life, Carpenter shared that she is open about her songwriting with romantic partners, noting that they are often flattered to be the subject of her music. “I feel pretty transparent going into any of my relationships, that I write songs and I think they’re just as down for it,” she said, adding that most take it as a compliment when a track is inspired by them.
