Russian Drones Hit Kyiv and Kharkiv in Massive Overnight Attack

1 min read

Russian drones struck multiple districts of Kyiv early Saturday in what officials described as a large‑scale assault on the Ukrainian capital. Air defense units were activated across the city as explosions and fires were reported in several locations.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed strikes in two districts on both sides of the Dnipro River, writing on Telegram: “Kyiv is under a massive enemy attack.” Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration, said at least three districts were hit, with fires breaking out in two areas. He warned that alongside the drone barrage, there was also a threat of Russian missile deployment.

In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second‑largest city, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Russian drones struck several districts, injuring 11 people. At least three residential buildings were hit, he said on Telegram.

The attacks came shortly after negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the United States concluded the first of two days of talks in the United Arab Emirates aimed at advancing efforts toward resolving the nearly four‑year‑old war.
